I’m Giacomo, I work as a Senior Software Engineer at AWS, where I’ve been building cloud services and products for high performance computing since 2018. The about page tells more about myself; this post tells why this blog exists.

Most of what I learn lives in my head, scattered in design docs, notes, code and in conversations with colleagues. Knowledge in that state fades, stays fuzzy, and does not travel out of my desk. I write mainly for myself, to fornalize my knowledge, to put black on white what I know and not forget it. If it helps or challenges someone else along the way, that’s even better.

I’ll write about high-performance computing, software design, the daily challenges I face as tech leader, and my personal projects, typically hosted on my GitHub.
