Welcome to my blog!

I’m Giacomo, I work as a Senior Software Engineer at AWS, where I’ve been building cloud services and high-performance computing systems since 2018. The about page tells more about myself; this post tells why this blog exists.

Most of what I’ve learned lives in my head, scattered in design docs, notes, code and in conversations with colleagues. Knowledge in that state fades, stays fuzzy, and does not travel out of my desk. Writing on this blog fixes this limitation: it forces me to formalize my knowledge, identify trade-offs, and challenge assumptions. I write mainly for myself, to put black on white what I know and not forget it. If it helps or challenges someone else along the way, that’s even better.

I’ll write about high-performance computing, software design, the daily challenges I face as tech leader, and my personal projects, typically hosted on my GitHub.
